ReplyDeleteYour reflection on gaming is probably universal in that we always need to consider the students' varying needs when we set up instruction. Sometimes it helps to provide choice for students and sometimes it just makes better sense to 'mix it up' so that if students come across one aspect that doesn't work well for them, it is temporary in nature and will be replaced with a different strategy later. The opposite is the teacher who lectures for the period all the time - students will either naturally be good listeners or they will be need to adapt their own skills to that singular instructional strategy.
