Aren't the illustrations in Storybird so beautiful and enhancing for our stories?! Can you imagine students in your classroom creating their own books in Storybird? I think it has great potential as a literacy tool - one that allows for choice but still fits a certain structure if needed. Your reflections on the teacher portfolio are relevant and though the final assessments can be scary, they are not really a reflection of one's learning, but a carry-over from the 'standardized testing' mentality. Fortunately, for teachers, there are supplemental portfolios demonstrating accomplishments that can be used to off-set the standardized test. :)
